Work is going pretty well. There are a few minor frustrations, of course, but I feel like I am doing good things and learning A LOT. Holy hell. I went from clueless to “hey, I can use SAS!” in about 2 weeks’ time. I’m learning to program. Good times! My colleagues seem to really like me, which is a huge thrill. I’ve found my home, and I get evenings and weekends. Win-win.
Speaking of weekends, we’ll likely be doing a lot of preparation for my in-laws’ visit. It’ll be nice to host people again and show off my awesome new hometown. We then take off for a few days in Tucson with my aunt and uncle, and then it’s a whirlwind end-of-the-semester, my dad’s visit, another trip to Tucson, and a trip back East to visit friends and attend a wedding. No rest for the wicked!
I’m really hoping that in all of this, we can find time to go camping one more time this year. It’ll be cold as all hell, but it might be fun to snuggle down in our new mummy bags and build a nice toasty campfire. Perhaps a lower-elevation site is in order, because there’s already snow in Santa Fe and all points north/higher.
